New fall of 2010:The Christian Discovery Curriculum--We provide learning opportunities for children by offering activities that utilize their fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory activities, learning centers, manipulatives, blocks and pre-writing activities. Our 3-year-olds and pre-k concentrate on readiness skills for elementary school. Each week, we focus on a particular theme, color, letter, number and shape and Bible verse or story. Children are provided with a morning breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. If your child arrives before 8 a.m., they are welcome to bring a snack until breakfast is served at 8:30 a.m. Menus are available for parents. If your child has a true diagnosed food allergy, then we need a doctor's note.
Our program incorporates lessons and activities to "spark" a desire and interest in games and activities during our recreational times. We are hoping to teach the children the value of teamwork, diversity, how to win and how to lose and fostering a desire to make healthy choices in regards to food and when engaged with physical activities. We hope to use our healthy choices to make a healthy life.
We also offer summer camp for all ages up to 11 years old.
Holidays: The center will be closed on the following nine holidays:
- 4th of July
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following Thanksgiving
- Christmas Eve
- Christmas Day
- New Year's Eve closed at 3 p.m.
- New Year's Day
- Good Friday
- Memorial Day
When these days fall on the weekend, we will be closed on the preceding or following day.
LEARNING
Children are learning through their play. We allow and encourage them to get their hands dirty, stand up and "brush it off" when they fall, and teach them to work out their own conflicts using words with their friends. They will get dirty; they will get bumps and bruises; they will have fun; they will learn. Parents are welcome to observe classes at any time.
SUMMER CAMPS:
Our camp is for ages 18 months to 11 years of age. We do on-site activites with a studyy session from 1:00 to 2:30 each day for the school aged child. The younger children will keep their daily learning schedules that they have been participating in during the school calendar year. Wednesday is Bible Study Day for all ages. One week in June will be dedicated to the Play Safe! Be Safe! Fire Prevention and Safety Program. There will be an on-site Bible Camp given by High School Students from the Hill County Bible Church during the last week of June. Mrs. Pam will have her 3rd of July fun day (No school the 4th) and water days and other fun days will be scheduled. Please call for further information. Packets will be available May 1st for enrollment.
